That's probably because you have private lobbies on PC and the ability to restrict the selection of cars. Why is there no 911 GT3 Cup and Lambo ST servers? Are we supposed to race against GT3s in these cars? There is a filter on PC to filter only Cup, ST, GT3 and GT4 now Very rarely you see Zandvoort, Paul Ricard and Kyalami, I haven't seen Laguna Seca yet. Tons of Silverstone and Hungaroring with the occasional Brands Hatch, Zolder, Mount Panorama. The number of people racing online atm is extremely low and those who are racing don't want to race in the wet yet and night races are a joke as we seem to have torches as headlights. All servers with 'dry races' have no requirements at all. The problem is there's servers with SA requirements but only for night races (SA40) and 'weather servers' (SA70). I'm not sure if I'm missing the point but in my view this really offers endless opportunities to game the system. Assetto corsa competizione single player Offline#Also, I'm not a fan of being able to boost your SA in offline sessions. The problem isn't really not having many people with rating as it does increase quickly if you actually have the intention to race clean. ![]() The way the online system is set up atm it looks to me that the configuration was an automated process. And I see the AI going wheel-to-wheel with me often, and not giving up. And it's usually me that backs out there when the AI is on the inside, because if you don't it will push you into the wall. I know, Bathurst for example, I've seen the AI hanging wheel-to-wheel going up the first section of the hill toward that blind corner. or something, because what you describe with the AI giving up doesn't seem right. It's like difference in processor, RAM, etc. And I'm starting to think it might have something to do with PC configuration, which wouldn't surprise me. I've heard varying accounts of AI in all sims. It's hard to make sense of the comments without knowing what your settings are. I don't experience what you're talking about with the AI just giving up. According to Stefano himself higher aggression setting raises the willingness of the AI cars to deviate from the main racing line, yet me and some other people are witnessing almost complete reluctancy to do so at max setting.Īlso quite a long time ago (version 1.1) AI would have been more aggressive. If so, I would not be surprised if there was a bug somewhere that affects some but not all. I checked some comments and threads at RaceDepartment and it seems that the experience varies between players. (I tried that long time ago, and I didn't like it because the high feeling you get from the winning lasts only for an hour, while the foul taste of losing lingers in the mouth for the rest of the day. Just too bad I'm not too keen on the multiplayer aspect myself. Damn good looking racing action!Īfter all this I do feel bad about bitching about the AI. It was like cobwebs were blown from my head when I saw the variety of good racing moves these opponents took on me, as well as other AI. Assetto corsa competizione single player series#While some of the PCARS2 classes have issues with AI, these two series have the tightest and best racing against human and AI opponents in the game. ![]() There is lots spiking going on when a big bunch of cars navigates around some slower turns, even when they don't directly collide with each other.Īfter playing several hours of ACC I tried PCARS2 GT4 and Touring Cars (at Brands) for comparison. It can be seen pretty well on the first lap when they actually have to be able to cope with each other for the whole lap and half of the second too. One of them being that the engine is so heavy for the AI. I've been running SteamVR performance graph enabled when I've optimized settings for my combo, and I think AI behavior might be intentional for several not racing related reasons. These situations were very clean, and not like I would have been zigzagging in front of them to trigger them into panic mode, like often can be seen in the videos where people want to bash some game for fun. Where there were good overtaking opportunities on me arranged by myself, so that AI gained significant advantage on me and had required momentum to match me head and tail on the straight, AI was equally reluctant to have a try in the next turn. Sometimes I saw them swerve a bit like they were up to something, but then they again decided not to stay behind. ![]() Having raced several hours more today at Zolder left me with the same impression as Brands: AI does not fight and ends up in either in a big conga line or smaller packs driving it equally safe between each other. Assetto corsa competizione single player full#I get the MP focus and agree that this really is what Kunos aims for, but the game is also sold as a full single player experience. ![]()
